Take part in a moth trapping event for National Moth Night at Ravensroost Wood, a Wiltshire Wildlife Trust reserve. A good variety of moths should be seen with reasonable weather, possibly including such woodland specialists as Great Prominent and Devon Carpet. Bring camera, net if you have one (not all moths enter the traps) and warm clothes! Event may last till midnight depending on the conditions.

Directions: Take the B4696 Ashton Keynes road north from Royal Wootton Bassett. After 1.75 miles take the second turn left signed for Minety. Bear left at the next junction, then straight on at the next crossroads, from where Ravensroost Wood car park is on the right after about half a mile.

Pre-registration is essential so you MUST inform the trip leader if you are intending to go on the field trip, either directly, through leaving a phone message, or via text message or email, no later than the evening of the day before the trip.  The field trip leader will have the discretion to cancel a field trip if there are no confirmed attendees or due to inclement weather. Please check the event details on the Butterfly Conservation website, or field trip leader for corrections, changes and additions to the programme and to confirm the details prior to joining any field trip.

If this is your first field trip with Wiltshire Branch please read our guidelines which tell you what to expect and what to bring.
