Trevor Boyd Memorial Lecture and training Micro-moths with Dr Mark Young Friday 28 September, 7pm, Ulster Museum, Belfast BT9 5AB

Many of you will remember Trevor Boyd, founder member and much loved champion of BCNI who sadly left us in 2010. Every two years we celebrate Trevor’s memory with a special scientific lecture in partnership with the Belfast Naturalists’ Field Club, of which Trevor was also a very dedicated and enthusiastic member.

Our 2018 lecture will be delivered this year by Dr Mark Young. Mark lectures in Zoology at Aberdeen University and has authored several books including ‘The Natural History of Moths’ (1997) and more recently the seminal ”A Field Guide to the Smaller Moths of Great Britain and Ireland’ (2018) in collaboration with John Langmaid and Steve Palmer.

Mark will take us deep into the vivid, unexpected and beautiful world of our smallest and most prolific Lepidoptera; our micro-moths. This promises to be a fascinating evening with one of our leading experts.
