About this Event
The Chequered Skipper was declared extinct in England in 1976. and after more than 40 years, it's back. The Roots of Rockingham Back from the Brink project have been working to restore the woodland home of the Chequered Skipper and reintroduce this butterfly to the woodlands of the Rockingham Forest.
Jamie Wildman is studying the progress of the reintroduction and investigating the history of the Chequered Skipper's decline and ultimate loss from the landscape. Join us for an update on the progress of Jamie's research into understanding the story of the Chequered Skipper.
This free event has been brought to you by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and People's Postcode Lottery.
There is an option to make a donation to the Beds & Northants Butterfly Conservation Branch to support the future work of volunteers conserving butterflies in the Rockingham Forest.
