The Bog Squad will be clearing birch and pine seedlings at Cathburn Moss in order to protect it's valuable peatland habitat. Invasive scrub, if left to grow will take vital water resources away from the bog which threatens the specialised flora and fauna that live there. We’ll be using hand tools to remove the scrub.
The work suits all abilities, but you need a steady footing as we will be working and walking across challenging, uneven and boggy terrain.
Start: 10am (We'll give you directions on where to meet and information about the day).
Finish: 3pm
Please bring: Water, lunch, wellies or sturdy waterproof walking boots and old work clothes - including waterproofs.
Booking: Please book your space by visiting here and completing the booking form. Joining instructions will be sent to everyone who registers.
Please contact Polly Phillpot on @email if you have any queries.
This work party is kindly supported by Peatland Action.
