Sunday 17th November – Tree guard removal at Toxside Moss (by Gladhouse Reservoir, Midlothian)

The Bog Squad will be removing tree guards from Toxside Moss near the Gladhouse Reservoir in Midlothian. The Moss is one of the few lowland sites for the Large Heath butterfly in the Lothians and the work is part of ongoing efforts to secure the future of the moss.

The work suits all abilities, but you need a steady footing as we will be working on and walking across challenging, uneven and boggy terrain.

Start: 10am at Toxside Moss (We'll give you directions) or 8.15am meet at our Stirling office (We offer some transport)
Finish: 3pm at Toxside Moss or 4.30pm at our Stirling office

Bring: Water, lunch (hot drink?), wellies or sturdy waterproof walking boots and work clothes - including waterproofs. Be prepared for cold conditions and bring warm hat, fleece etc..and a sense of humour!
