Frys Hill, Axbridge

This walk takes us to an SSSI area on the southern slopes of Mendip Hills, overlooking Cheddar Reservoir. (CROW land)

This walk will be steep and on uneven ground as well as footpaths and will last approx 3 hours. If the weather allows, we may stop for a short break if you want to bring a packed lunch with you.

Target species:  Dingy skipper, Grizzled skipper, Green Hairstreak, Common Blue, Brown Argus, Small Heath & a chance of an early Small Pearl Bordered Fritillary.

Information that applies to all our guided walks

There is no charge for the walks. Children and beginners are especially welcome. No dogs please as some of the sites have livestock on them.

Except where indicated, all walks start promptly at 11.00 am; please take care to arrive in good time.  They are taken at an easy pace.

Many sites include steep, rough or wet ground so stout shoes, boots or wellies are recommended. Please inform the walk leader if you have health problems that might affect you on the walk.
