Spring Members' Meeting

Venue:  Draycott Memorial Hall, Latches Lane, Draycott, Cheddar BS27 3UE

Date:  Saturday 9th March 2024

Time:  1.30pm to 4.30pm   (Please arrive between 12.45pm & 1.25pm)

The entrance driveway is at the top of Latches Lane where it joins the A371 (next to the Cider Barn) - do not go down Latches Lane.  There is a large car-park behind the hall.

Presentations/Talks include:

  • The weird and wonderful world of moths
    • Rob Grimmond.  Somerset Moth Group
  • Review of 2023 Somerset Butterfly Records
    • Ross Harley, Somerset County Butterfly Recorder
  • Recent progress in the re-establishment of the Large Blue and associated wildlife.
    • Jeremy Thomas

There will be an interval, with the opportunity for conversation and some delicious cakes.  

There will be a raffle (£1 per ticket) - so please bring some cash with you!

There will also be a table for second hand / donated books (primarily lepidoptera) - we just ask you to donate some cash (to the branch funds) of what you feel they are worth.

The Somerset Moth Group meeting & AGM will be held at the same venue in the morning.

Doors will open at 10.45am for those attending the Somerset Moth Group meeting (11am start) but if you just wish to attend the BC meeting please arrive during the lunch break (after 12.45pm) for a 1.30pm start.

For those member attending both meetings, please bring a packed lunch with you.   There will be refreshments (tea / coffee / fruit juice) available.
