Worley Hill, Polden Hills.

The first of our guided walks this season is to Worley Hill, north of Somerton.  This is a private reserve that is managed by the J & F Clark Trust and Millfield School and is not normally open to the public.

Target species include: Brown Argus, Dingy Skipper, Grizzled Skipper, Green Hairstreak and Holly Blue.

DirectionsJust over a mile south of Compton Dundon, on the B3151, look for BC signs at a track entrance at OS ref ST495 308.  The turning is very easy to miss.  Parking is at end of the track.  (zoom in on the map to see the location of the entrance)

Information that applies to all our guided walks

There is no charge for the walks. Children and beginners are especially welcome. No dogs please as some of the sites have livestock on them.

Except where indicated, all walks start promptly at 11.00 am; please take care to arrive in good time.  They are taken at an easy pace and end around 1.00 - 1.30 pm. 

Many sites include steep, rough or wet ground so stout shoes, boots or wellies are recommended. Please inform the walk leader if you have health problems that might affect you on the walk.
