Details: Saturday 30th November 2024 1.30pm – 4.30pm
Venue: Cyprus Hall, Burgess Hill, RH15 8DX
We will have three interesting and informative presentations from:
• Steven Lofting, BC’s Regional Conservation Officer on ‘Saving Butterflies and Moths in South East England’
Steven will describe Butterfly Conservation's Strategy, with a particular focus on South East England, and on recent trends in butterfly populations.
• Bob Eade on ‘The Lifecycle of the Wall Brown’
Bob, an expert on the Wall Brown, will explain this fascinating species' life cycle. Although it has declined nationally and its range contracted, it remains fairly common in Sussex, especially along the South Downs.
• Lisa Saw on ‘Some of my Special Sightings’
Lisa will give an account, based around some of her beautiful photographs, of memorable encounters with butterflies.
Tea, coffee and cakes will be available, plus a Raffle and Pre-Loved Book Stall (cash donations would be appreciated). Photo competition results will be announced, and the top images submitted will be projected.
We’d really love for our members to be able to meet and mingle. Please do not attend if you feel unwell.
There is a large pay and display car park behind Cyprus Hall, and other (also paying) car parks around the centre of Burgess Hill. The Hall is about 5 minutes’ walk from Burgess Hill station.
No booking needed.
