Come along to this free event to learn how to identify and record Edinburgh's butterflies. The event will introduce all the species you are likely to see in the area, and you'll receive guides to take away. The aim of the day will be to help new volunteers take part in recording butterflies along a new recording route (called 'transect') in Little France Park. We will spend the morning indoors learning all about butterflies, then go outside for the afternoon to walk the transect at Little France Park. This event is suitable for everyone from complete beginners to those with some experience who would like to be more involved in recording butterflies. However it is generally not suitable for young children. It is hoped that people who attend this workshop will go on to record butterflies in Little France or their own areas.

Recording butterflies helps us to understand how their populations are doing, and it's a nice way to spend more time outdoors on sunny days.
