Wiltshire: Scrub Clearance at West Yatton Down (Chippenham)

We are pleased to share details of winter work parties run by Manor Farm Plant Hire Ltd at West Yatton Down.

Scrub clearance days will be held on selected Fridays of each autumn and winter month at this SSSI supporting nine species of orchid and more than thirty species of butterfly.

Volunteers should bring warm clothing, those wishing to do an extra hour or so after lunch should bring a picnic and a flask of tea or coffee. “Tree poppers” are supplied to those who would like to use them!

Meeting place alongside the road at the Long Dean fork off the by road from West Yatton to Upper Castle Combe OS ST 851759 (OS Map 173).
