We strongly recommend that you check our website for any last-minute changes or contact one of the designated leaders if there are any queries.
Please note some field trips involve lengthy walks (albeit at a slow pace), possibly in hilly, rough or muddy places and under all kinds of weather conditions. Please wear appropriate clothing and sensible footwear. Most trips are only for a morning, but some will continue in the afternoon in which case it is advisable to bring a packed lunch. It is important to bring plenty to drink in hot weather. The leader will inform you of any recognised hazards before setting off. Please inform the leader if any problems arise during the outing, or if you decide to leave early. If you are in any doubt about your ability to cope with the terrain, please discuss with the leader beforehand.
Both the Sussex and the Surrey & SW London branches have kindly confirmed they are very happy for Kent & SE London members to attend their field trips. Please see their websites for further details.
The White Cliffs Countryside Project also have an extensive events programme, many of which are good for butterflies; www.whitecliffscountryside.org.uk
Keep an eye on the website and social media for further activities throughout the year. Don’t forget the Big Butterfly Count, 19th July – 11th August!
