The Urban Butterfly Project concluded in 2019. Through this project, over 270 volunteers were trained to identify and record butterflies in urban areas of central Scotland. Volunteers also helped at 22 events to create and maintain habitats for butterflies.

See the downloads section at the bottom of this page to see the final project report, and the resources produced through the Urban Butterfly Project. This project was kindly supported by Heritage Lottery Fund, Scottish Natural Heritage and Butterfly Conservation members.

There are new volunteering opportunities available through the Helping Hands for Butterflies Project.
