Gill Hanson died of motor neurone disease on Sep 3. We offer our condolences to husband David, holder of various BC posts since the 1970s, notably Surrey Skipper editor 1997-2004 and National Treasurer 1998-2018. Gill was a familiar face at national and local meetings dating back to the London Branch era (<1995), and walked WCBS squares at Compton and Peaslake.

Dec 19 David Gradidge 1936-2021, who served London/Surrey Branch for 30 years to 2016 as Treasurer, Membership Secretary, and leader of field trips and work parties on Banstead Downs, died after a short illness. David wrote a weather column for the Surrey Skipper and also for 2013’s Butterflies of Surrey Revisited. We offer our condolences to David’s wife Anne and the rest of his family.
