BC has received the exciting news that we have been successful in securing initial National Lottery support for a London-based project, Big City Butterflies.
The project will cover South & East London and will encourage and support Londoners to discover the butterflies and moths of their local green spaces and involve communities in making habitat improvements.
BC will also be calling on groups and individuals to monitor and record species to help the wildlife charity better understand how urban populations of butterflies and moths are faring.
Development funding of £38,200 has been awarded by the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) to help BC progress our plans to apply for a full National Lottery grant at a later date.
Work is underway to recruit a Development Officer, who will plan the project in detail, build partnerships and trial run many of the activities and events we have planned.
If successful, we would like to see the recruitment of two London-based project staff, who will deliver the project over four years from 2020, making a significant and lasting contribution to the conservation and celebration of butterflies and moths in the capital.
Please note that the closing date for applications will be noon on Thursday 29 November 2018 - so apply now!
