Our East Scotland Branch runs all the way from the Scottish Borders, north to Aberdeenshire. The branch is supported by a team of fantastic volunteers, and they'd love for you to join them!

Our Events Volunteers help the butterflies and people on their doorstep.  They help to connect people to their local wildlife, encouraging people to take action for butterflies and moths. An Events Leader is needed to help co-ordinate events in the East Scotland Branch area.

Events leaders help ensure that the volunteer-led events across the branch are fully supported. They can help by:

  • Events Promotion: advertising events on our website and social media
  • Events organisation: being a point of contact for requests for representation of the Branch at public events (for example when we receive requests to have a stall at a show, fair, bioblitz, etc.), and helping to find branch volunteers to take part in those events.
  • Events support: to help events volunteers with logistics around events, including risk assessments and stocks of materials.

Butterfly Conservation is a registered charity which aims to create a world where butterflies and moths are enjoyed by everyone, forever.  We need volunteers to help run events so we can get even more people involved in our work.

You will be working with a wide range of people, so that must appeal to you.  This role would also suit you if you’re interested in helping us to connect people to nature.  We want to get as many people involved in our national campaigns as possible – whether it’s the Big Butterfly Count or by creating Wild Spaces.

Help us save butterflies and moths and make the environment better.

Full training will be provided. For more information contact Project Officer Anthony McCluskey on amccluskey@butterfly-conservation.org
