We are excited to announce that we are looking to recruit Events Volunteers to help with the public engagement work carried out at Fineshade Wood, other Rockingham Forest sites and the local community.
Our Events Volunteers help the butterflies and people on their doorstep. They help to connect people to their local wildlife, encouraging people to take action for butterflies and moths.
At Butterfly Conservation, we want to create a world where butterflies and moths are enjoyed by everyone, forever. We need volunteers to help share the stories of Rockingham Forest's butterflies, so we can get even more people involved in our work. You might help at public events, promote the Big Butterfly Count or spend time talking to people about our work. You can choose how and when you volunteer.
You will be working with a wide range of people, so if that appeals then this may be the role for you. This role would also suit you if you’re interested in helping us to connect people to nature, develop or utilise your public engagement skills, sharing your knowledge and enthusiasm. Some butterfly and/or moth identifications skills can be useful but are not essential as training can be provided in this area.
We ask for a minimum commitment to assist with one event per year. Events can range from 2 hours to a full day.
Help us save butterflies and moths and make the environment better.
