We have teamed up with Alan Titchmarsh to help you create your own 'Pit Stops for Pollinators'!

We know that our wildlife is in crisis, and 76% of our butterflies have declined in abundance since 1976. But the good news is that there is something we can all do to help.

By creating Pit Stops for Pollinators in your own garden or green space you can help provide butterflies and moths with the plants they need for survival. Butterflies and moths are important insects – they are pollinators and so are key components of our ecosystem. They are also beautiful, fragile creatures whose appearance brings people great joy. Let’s welcome more of them to our homes and gardens and provide them with the pit stops they need to survive as they move around our green spaces and gardens!

Pit Stop for Pollinators Campaign

About this campaign

We know that our wildlife is in crisis, and 76% of butterflies have declined in abundance since 1976. But the good news is that there is something we can all do. By creating a pit stop for pollinators you can help provide butterflies and moths with the plants they need for survival. And it doesn’t matter how big that pit stop is – even a small plant pot on a doorstep or balcony could help insects get from one area of habitat to the next. And the bonus is – you can have lots of beautiful butterflies and moths in your garden, day and night. Whether you live in a city or village we can all contribute to support our local insects.

Alan Titchmarsh

"By providing a pit stop for pollinators, you will be doing your bit for the insects that allow us to survive. Without them, we are gone. Plants aren’t pollinated, crops don’t grow. We need pollinators, and we need to look after the planet.”
Alan Titchmarsh, Butterfly Conservation’s Vice-president
